Final Soccer Game

After a shaky start, Coach Crawford and the Earthquakes got on a roll. They finished the season 7-2 (though no one was keeping score, right? I was! We outscored opponents 51-8).

Here is Coach Crawford giving his team their last pregame pep-talk. This is what he told them:

"This is our last game of the season. Can't hold anything back."
I will say that for a group of 3 and 4 year-olds they did very well. Some of the other teams were all over the place. We watched other teams lay on the ground, play tag, and even run off the field.

After the game we had a team pizza party. What a cute team! (Cute? What's up w/ that? No one wants to be known as the "cute" team. We were 7-2, how bout fierce or indomitable? Honestly, cute? C'mon!)

Here He is passing out the trophies.
It was a lot of fun to watch Austin play soccer. I love being a "soccer"mom. It was also a lot of fun watching Jason coach. He definitely grew more comfortable in that role as the season went on. He was a trooper, this was a job that I volunteered him for. If he hadn't done it none of these kids would have had the opportunity to play. Not only did he do it, but he did a great job. He did so awesome that the other parents nominated him to be the T-ball coach. Or maybe none of them wanted to coach T-ball. I am going to go with the good job theory.

Good Example

Thank you Jason for being a good example to our boys!!
I am very grateful to be married to someone that can show my boys what it means to be a good man and husband.

They are so cute!!

Good job dad!

Fort Friday

On Friday it was raining. Image that! Rain in Washington! So the boys and I decided to make a Fort and we called it our Friday Fort. It was great, it kept the boys entertained all day!

The Fort went from one end of our house to the other. There were different rooms. They even ate their lunch in there. They had a ball.
Lucas in his "Science" room. He is my boy that likes to figure things out. He wants to know how everything works. He has a great imagination.

Austin is my little ring leader. He can get Lucas to do anything.

I LOVE it when the play together, it is so much fun to hear them make each other laugh!

Happy 5th Birthday Austin

I cannot believe that Austin is 5. We have had SO much fun having him in our family. Austin is such a good big brother, and a wonderful helper.

For Austin's Birthday he wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese. He actually wanted to go there last year but it was way too crazy to go in (lesson learned - avoid weekends there). He was a good sport last year and we did Glow Golf instead. The day before his birthday this year he asked if he was going to get to go to Chuck E. Cheese. I told him I was not sure. He went off on how he didn't get to go when he was 4 and now I wasn't going to let him go when he was 5 either. He reminded me that he had been asking for a year to go to Chuck E. Cheese, which he had, but with the craziness of having a baby 2 weeks ago I was not as prepared as I should have been - totally forgot about Chuck E.) I talked to Jason and we decided we should at least make the effort to go. It worked out and the whole family had a great time.

Austin had fun beating Jason at air hockey.

My uncle made this awesome Batman cake.
Thanks Dale and Michael!

I hope his wish comes true. He will not tell me what it was (because then it won't come true), but he assures me it was a good one.
Austin could hardly wait to get to his gifts. He had a great birthday.
We love you Austin!!!
Happy Birthday.

Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween! We were lucky enough to be able to spend this Halloween with some family who visited us from Utah. Grandma Joyce and Grandma and Grandpa Ouzts came to see Dallin and help me adjust to having 3 boys.
The first Halloween thing we did was carve pumpkins. Not just normal pumpkins, but huge pumpkins, that our friends Mike and Marjorie got for the boys from the local pumpkin patch. Thanks M&M!
Luke was having too much fun stabbing his pumpkin. Poor pumpkin.
Even Grandpa Ouzts got in on the fun. Austin picked Grandma Joyce to help him with his pumpkin. Who needs mom when grandma is around?

Austin, Grandma Joyce, and Lucas with their Jack-o-lanterns.
Good job guys!
The next fun project we got to do with grandma was paint ceramic pumpkins. These ones we can keep and use every year to remember our fun Halloween with grandma.
Lucas decided it was more fun to paint grandma's hand. Grandma was a good sport and played along.

Before long she was rubbing the pumpkin. This gives new meaning to hand painting! I was hoping for the pumpkin genie to pop out and grant me 3 wishes.

Before long, painting grandma's hand turned into painting themselves.

Austin had like 5 layers of paint. It was flaking off. Good Halloween look.

Lucas got a little help with his pumpkin belly. He had to get a picture with a ceramic tiger he painted.
And of course there were costumes and Trick-or-Treating.
Here is Dallin and his 1st Halloween costume. His shirt says "I love my mummy" Thanks to his cousin Allison for the shirt.

Austin , Dallin, and Lucas.
AKA: Ben 10, Mummy lover, and Buzz Lightyear.

Man they are cute, if I do say so myself.

Buzz is soo ready to go trick-or-treating.

Peter (our neighbor) Austin, and Lucas.
Off to get all the candy they can carry, and a little more in Buzz's case.
