Darth Vader Genealogy

Jon, this post is for you.

It will also be helpful to any of you who can trace their family genealogy back through Darth Vader (as many people do) and who seem to find nothing but dead ends upon arriving there.

Our primary children sang "Christmas Bells" for the Ward Christmas Party last Friday evening. Here are the words:

Christmas bells are ringing.
Hear what they say to you.
Jesus was born,
In Bethlehem.
In Bethlehem.

As we were driving around last night I heard Lucas singing in the backseat:

Christmas bells are ringing.
Hear what they say to you.
Darth Vader was born,
In Bethlehem.
In Bethlehem.

Who knew that Darth Vader was born in Bethlehem?

I laughed uncontrollably for 5 minutes, knowing that when I was a boy I too would sing the primary songs and change the words to entertain myself and those around me. The one difference? I was 11! Lucas has figured this out at the age of 3. I'm a little afraid of what lies ahead for us, and yet, also excited to see what his little mind will create.

Whatever it is, I'll be sure to keep you posted.

Lucas Car Dancing

This was Lucas dancing in the car. He says he is practicing for a dance contest. No more Dancing with the Stars or So You Think You Can Dance. (Lucas thinks he can dance. He can, to bad it is like his mom.)

Preschool Graduation. Already?

I can not believe Austin is finished with preschool and headed to Kindergarten! Where has the time gone. We have LOVED his preschool teacher. She is wonderful. She has done a great job helping get Austin prepared for kindergarten. The good news I guess is that Lucas gets to start preschool with Mrs. Rumel in the fall.

Here is a little clip from Austins graduation. Way to go Austin!! Now on to elementary graduation, middle school graduation, High school graduation, college graduation. One down 4 or 5 to go.
